At Barnet + Boatrace, we believe beauty should never have barriers. Every client we meet deserves to feel seen, supported and downright fabulous — no matter what they're navigating, whether that's a disability, access need, medical condition, treatment or simply the way they move through the world. This blog is our pledge to do better, be better and celebrate every body. From practical adjustments to empathetic styling, here’s how we make sure your wedding morning is not just accessible, but inclusive, joyful, ease filled and entirely yours. It Starts with The Booking Form Once you've given us the green light we'll send you our Booking Form to complete online. (*Big Sigh*) Yes it's another form which may not fill you with joy - but it's a really important step for us to not only to collect vital practical information about your wedding day such as timings and logistics but also who the VIP's are in your wedding party and what their special needs are if they have them. Some clients use this space to advise us about chemo treatment they're having, others tell us about a specific medical condition they may have. You are welcome to share privately anything that would be useful for us to know for you (or anyone in your wedding party) so that we're given the heads up and can make any reasonable adjustments needed. If reading completing online forms fills you with fear - it doesn't have to. You can always ask a friend to help you or we can help you complete it over the phone instead, just like we did here for Ali. Next Comes the Hair + Makeup PreviewThe majority of our Preview Appointments are carried out on a 121 basis in the privacy of our own (ground floor) home or studio and not in a busy salon. This way we can offer a quiet, low stimulation set up which is ideal for clients who prefer calmer environments. If we do need to carry out your appointment in a salon environment we will endeavour to book this in for a quieter day of the week. Alternatively, we can offer home visits if that's preferred just like we did here for Sonia and Freya instead. The Seating Plan!
The Glam Plan
We’re committed to making every wedding morning welcoming, comfortable and joyfully bespoke. No matter what.
