FAQ's
How much will a pre-wedding makeup and hair trial cost?
All trials are £45 per person per service so £90 in total if you are having both your Barnet & Boatrace attended to.
Where does the pre-wedding makeup and hair trial take place?
As we do not operate from a salon all makeup and hair trials take place informally at home or a hotel venue either in Bournemouth or Poole. We generally carry out makeup and hair trials during the day on a Frida as we tend to get fully booked with weddings at weekends but we will do our best to accommodate you if you are only available during evenings or weekends.
Can I have a pre-wedding makeup and hair trial done at the same time?
Yes, whenever possible we will can carry out the hair and makeup appointment at the same time to give you an idea of the overall look. Alternatively we will carry out two separate appointments one after the other. Please allow up to 1 hour 30mins for your hair and makeup trial. Some brides like to also arrange their trial on the same day as their dress fitting.
Can I bring a bridesmaid or friend to the wedding makeup and hair trial?
Yes as long as you confirm with us beforehand due to limitations on space (especially during the Coronavirus pandemic). It's always good to get a second opinion and you could always book them in for a makeup trial or hair trial as a treat too!
Should I wash my hair and cleanse my face beforehand?
It's best to come to the trial with "day old" hair so we recommend you wash your hair the day or evening before.
Freshly cleansed and moisturised skin works best for us too. If possible, use a gentle exfoliator the day beforehand too.
I don't live near Bournemouth or Poole and it's difficult to arrange time off work to have my wedding makeup and hair trial, what do you suggest?
No problem at all. We are used to dealing with brides who don't live locally and can do a full consultation via the phone, FaceTime or email instead. Or we sometimes carry out the trial the day before the wedding at your hotel venue if you are staying there.
How will I ensure my makeup stays on all day and my hair lasts all night?
A great skincare routine and taking care of your hair! However if this isn't possible fear not as we will use the strongest of hairsprays and plenty of pins if you are having any of your hair styled up! Regarding your makeup we ensure we use the right moisturiser for your skin type, a good primer, foundation and set this with a light powder and setting spray. If you're wanting a different look for the evening we may be able to come back to you at your venue and carry out a restyle. Please mention this when requesting a quote. Alternatively, you will have the option to purchase the same fabulous products used at your wedding makeup trial to use to touch up with later in the day.
How many makeup artists and hair stylists will I need?
We usually allocate one hair stylist and one makeup artist to keep the flow of the morning running smoothly. However, if you have more than 8 people in your bridal party we may need to allocate a second stylist/makeup artist depending on what time you all need to be ready for.
Do you do makeup and hair styling for hen parties?
Yes we certainly do. Please contact us for a bespoke quote.
Will I need to pay a deposit?
A £50 non refundable booking deposit is payable to hold the date for all wedding makeup and hair bookings.
For prom or special occasion hair and makeup a 50% deposit is required.
