Dry Skin!If someone has dry flaky skin and no matter what skin prep or foundation you use the clients skin is cakey and dry..
Apply some moisturiser on a disposable mascara wand and gently massage this over the dry flaky areas in circular motions then wipe the moisturiser and dry skin away and re-apply the foundation you should have a nice smooth base!! Becky, Feb '25 |
Being on Time!I always arrive at a wedding 20 mins before I need to be there, and I take my make-up in the car with me to do while I wait in the car!
This means I’m never late and always get good parking. It’s also a great time to hop on your Instagram stories and talk to your followers while you do said make up! Olivia, Feb '25 |
Remind brides to cut off labels in advance.
Have a wee and brush their teeth before lipstick is applied and they put on their dress! Nikki, Jan '25 |
Tell brides to put the tongue to the roof of their mouth if they feel that they are going to cry (and potentially spoil the makeup!)
It also gives them a nice chin shape! Jess, Jan '25 |
If you’ve got multiple makeups to do, to be quick and efficient I always put all the products I can decant, ready on my metal palette.
Example: a blob of serum, a blob of moisturiser, a blob of primer, the foundation, concealer etc so it’s all ready to go. I also do a blob of eyelash glue when I’m doing the eyeshadow so that it’s ready to use when I apply the eyelashes so I’m not waiting around for the glue to dry! Becky, Jan '25 |
If you're falling behind with time with your bridesmaids or mums makeup application switch from powder eyeshadow to an eyeshadow crayon (the ones from Mii Cosmetics are amazing and come in numerous shades too).
No need to prime the lid (as it's built in), you can quickly blend it out with your finger or a fluffy brush. Minimal effort but high impact result! Olga, Feb '25 |
