Your Role as a Hair + Makeup Artist with Barnet + Boatrace

• Creating elegant and timeless Wedding and Special Occasion hair and makeup looks
• Conducting consultations with brides, grooms and their wedding parties to understand their hair and makeup preferences
• Being open to constructive criticism working with clients and the agency to address any concerns and find a quick resolution
• Managing clients expectations and providing advice if additional products or services are needed to achieve their desired look
• Staying updated on the most recent and upcoming bridal makeup and hair trends either via online or in person training
• Building strong professional relationships with the other Hair Stylists and Makeup Artists within the team to achieve cohesive bridal looks within a timely manner
• Recognising when your colleagues may need extra support and stepping up to assist
• Providing hair and makeup touch ups and advice to ensure that makeup and hair stays put throughout the day

You'll be working under the direction of Olga, Founder and Lead Makeup Artist.  You'll be responsible for making our clients look and feel their best in preparation for their wedding day, prom or other special occasions. 

The clients we attract are lean towards a natural soft makeup look so if your "go to" style is heavily contoured makeup with over lined lips and scouse brows unfortunately you may not be the ideal fit for our bridal clients. 

We're known for our calm natured and laid back approach (we listen more - and talk less!) so brides, grooms and their maids feel relaxed knowing that we're not going to be centre of attention on their wedding morning and focus our energy on their hair and beauty needs instead!

You'll be passionate about Wedding Hair and Makeup always maintaining a well sanitised kit paired with a high standard of work as well as being keen to represent the brand and support our well established reputation in Dorset and Hampshire.

Required Hair + Makeup Skills

• Own a varied selection of well presented premium branded products/brushes/styling tools etc
• Hold a valid Public Liability Insurance at all times (proof required)
• Have excellent diary management and organisation skills
• Happy to work alone as well as in a team
• Strive to be 100% reliable 
• Be an excellent listener and able to read situations well
• Remain calm under pressure
• Be available to work early mornings (especially at weekends) 
• Have access to your own vehicle and be confident driving to various venues across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire (some of our clients venues are out in the sticks!)
• Be able to provide recent testimonials and proof of your work
• Happy to do a trade test (when and if required)
