Frequently Asked Wedding Hair and Makeup Questions!
How much does my pre-wedding makeup and hair preview cost?
Trials are currently £65 per service for brides, so that's £130 in total for both your Barnet & Boatrace
If any of your wedding party wish to have a preview too the price for this is £60 per service.
When does my pre-wedding makeup and hair preview take place?
We like to carry out makeup and hair previews 2- 3 months before your wedding day during the daytime Monday to Friday as we're usually fully booked with weddings at weekends. However, we will do our best to fit you in around this if you are only available during evenings or weekends.
Can I have a pre-wedding makeup and hair appointment at the same time?
Yes, we highly recommend this so you have a good idea of both how your hair and makeup will look on your wedding day.
If we're unable to do a joint appointment we'll arrange 2 seperate appointments on the same day.
Please allow up to 1 .5 hour for a joint hair and makeup preview.
Some brides also try to arrange their hair and makeup preview on the same day as their wedding dress fitting so that they can see how the overall look will all come together.
Can I bring a bridesmaid or family member with me?
Yes although please confirm this with us beforehand as sometimes we're limited on space and would hate to leave Mum out in the cold!
What happens if we run out of time at my wedding hair and makeup appointment?
We're mindful of time so we ask you to provide us with as much information as possible on your booking form so that we can spend the majority of time doing the 'hands on' practical bit.
If at the end of your appointment you'd like to try out more ideas we can always look to book in a second trial.
Our current price for this is £60 per service.
Should I wash my hair and cleanse my face beforehand?
It's best to come to your appointment with "day old" hair so we recommend you wash your hair the day or evening before as this makes it easier to hold your style.
Freshly cleansed and moisturised skin works best for us too but you are welcome to come with makeup already applied if you feel more comfortable. It's also a good idea to do a gentle exfoliation the day beforehand so that we have a nice smooth canvas to work with!
I'm not local so it's difficult to arrange time off work to have my wedding makeup and hair preview.
Do you have any alternative suggestions?
We are used to helping brides who live out of the area so don't worry we can arrange your wedding hair and makeup consultation via phone, FaceTime or WhatsApp video call instead. We encourage you to provide us with as much detail and photo ideas as well before the call.
Will my makeup stay on all day and my hair last all night?
A great skincare and hair routine always helps and we can offer you specialist advice at your trial appointment to help it all stay put.
We always use the strongest of hairsprays and have plenty of pins for your hair.
For your makeup we'll select the correct moisturiser for your skin type, a suitable primer, foundation and set this all with a light powder as well as a setting spray. If you decide that you'd like a top up or different look for the evening we can return to your wedding venue and carry out a restyle or we can always give you some tips on how to transform your look from day to night.
You can also purchase additional products recommended by us to touch up your makeup for later on in the day.
How many Makeup Artists and Hair Stylists will I need to get my wedding party ready in time?
We usually allocate at least 1 Hair Stylist as well as 1 Makeup Artist to ensure that the morning runs as smoothly as possible.
We also have multi skilled Hair Stylists/Makeup Artists too so if its a solo booking we may allocate one multi skilled Artist/Stylist instead.
For groups of 6 people or more or early ceremonies we usually allocate a second Stylist/Makeup Artist within our team.
This is usually £50 per additional Stylist or Makeup Artist.
Do you offer makeup and hair styling for Wedding guests too?
