It's not about the money, money, money! (according to Jesse J and her song Price Tag)You’ve decided that you don’t have the necessary skills, relevant products or nerves needed to apply your own makeup or style your own hair and want to sit back and be pampered on your wedding day! You’ve taken the plunge in hiring a professional to style your hair and apply your makeup - fabulous idea! You'd like your bridesmaids enjoy the experience with you and look great in your wedding pictures too but perhaps you've done some sums and realise everything is adding up to wayyy more than you anticipated! So.... how do you approach them to maybe, dare I say it…. contribute towards some of the wedding day costs?! Weddings can really add up. For the beauty and styling side of things you've got not only the bridesmaids dresses, shoes, jewellery, flowers, accessories, hair as well as makeup, should the bride really be expected to pay for it all? Here’s a couple of ideas you may wish to consider to get the wedding you really, really want! A couple of ideas to consider....One of the top things that brides sometimes ask for a contribution towards is hair and/or makeup. The bride sends out a WhatsApp or Instagram message to gage the feedback which is met with a wall of silence.... eeeek! Have you considered asking the bridesmaids for a contribution towards their dresses rather than their tresses? This can be a great way for your maids to feel like they have received something tangible for their contribution which they can potentially wear again rather than paying for hair and makeup which only lasts the day! This also can help act as a good contraception as your bridesmaids won’t want to buy a second dress if they do end up falling pregnant before your big day! (Believe us, we've heard about this scenario from previous brides on more than one occasion!) A Payment PlanMost suppliers will take a deposit and then ask for the remaining payment a few weeks or days before the wedding date. It’s worth familiarising yourself with the small print of your wedding suppliers' contracts and their payment terms and maybe asking if one or two of them offer a staggered payment plan so that you don’t have to pay the majority of companies all at the same time. At Barnet and Boatrace we offer a staggered payment plan so that once you have paid your deposit you can spread the cost either in equal monthly payments or in 3 lump sums. To find out more about a staggered payment plan and booking your dream hair and makeup with Barnet and Boatrace pick up the dog and bone and give Olga a call on 07787 566564.
